Trout Fishing

Updated: May 14, 2019

Fishing is in full swing with the ice off our low and mid-elevation lakes. We are having good results on these lakes as they really turn on at this time of year. The weather forecast is calling for sunny and warm temps which should get the spring hatches going. Typically, we are fishing wet flies on dry or intermediate sinking lines with leeches, pumpkin heads and chironomids as our go-to flies. Dry flies are also working. This is the time to hit the many lakes in the Whistler area and beyond. We have access to several great lakes and ponds further afield if you can commit to a full day trip.

For experienced anglers, there are still opportunities to chase steelhead and bull trout on local rivers before the spring runoff renders them unfishable (typically mid-May).
